A 42-year-old Marshall woman who changed her plea to some of the felony charges following the execution of a search warrant at her residence on December 28, 2020, avoided prison time.
Authorities say Rosemary T. Vera was arrested after authorities seized numerous drug-related items, including methamphetamine; syringes containing liquid methamphetamine; a digital scale with methamphetamine residue; notebooks with drug information; a loaded handgun; and several other drug-related items.
Court documents say Vera was charged with felonies for delivery of a controlled substance, a dangerous felon unlawfully possessing a firearm and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Vera withdrew her not-guilty plea and pleaded guilty to the delivery and a dangerous felon unlawfully possessing a firearm on February 14. The court dismissed the possession of drug paraphernalia charge
On Monday, April 11, at Saline County Circuit Court, as part of a plea deal, Vera was sentenced to 10 years on count one and seven years on count two in the Missouri Department of Corrections. However, each sentence was suspended, and Vera was placed on five years of supervised probation.
