The Marshall Public Schools Social Work Team put together a signing event and pinwheel garden as Marshall Mayor Dewey Hendrix signed a Proclamation declaring April 2022 as Child Abuse Awareness Month.

The MPS Social Work Team, members of the Saline County Children’s Division, the 15th Judicial Circuit Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Director, and Councilman Craig Thompson met with Mayor Hendrix as he signed the proclamation.

District social worker Lindsey Parton said the event made at return after a few years.

There are a total of 477 pinwheels in the pinwheel garden on the courthouse lawn, representing the number of children in Saline County affected by child abuse in 2021.
