UPDATE: ACCORDING TO THE CHARITON COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT, GROSSMAN HAS BEEN CAPTURED.
On Monday, May 9, a Chariton County Deputy attempted to stop a motor vehicle in Mendon.
According to authorities, the vehicle failed to stop and began fleeing. The vehicle eventually stopped on Steamboat Avenue near Route Y, north of Brunswick.
The deputy ordered the driver out of the vehicle and placed him in handcuffs. The deputy noticed a second occupant inside of the vehicle as well. While ordering the second occupant out of the vehicle, the male subject fled on foot. Other deputies were near the scene at this time and sat up a perimeter, and K-9 was called for a track on the male subject.
The K-9 arrived on scene but was unable to locate the subject. Several farmers in the area offered their side-by-sides so authorities could continue looking for the male subject. They searched the area for multiple hours and were unable to locate the subject.
Authorities say the male subject is David Grossman. He has two minor warrants out for his arrest and was not armed at the time he fled. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a gray t-shirt. He has about shoulder-length dark hair.
If you see him, authorities urge you to not approach him and dial 911.
If anyone has any information on his whereabouts, you are urged to call the Sheriff’s Department or message the Chariton County Sheriff’s Facebook page.
