In May 2021, Saline County received $2.2 million of its $4.4 million total allotment in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.

The Saline County ARPA Committee recently approved some of the funds to be used.

During the county commission meeting on Thursday, May 12, Northern District Commissioner Stephanie Gooden said some repairs need to be made to an HVAC unit.

Saline County Emergency Management Director Tony Day further explained.

The amount approved was $9,205, according to Gooden. That leaves $157,918.93 in the county’s ARPA fund account.

Commissioners say they haven’t been updated as to when the county is to receive the second half of the funding from the federal government.
