Madelyn June Cox, age 92, of Marshall, MO, died Monday, May 16, 2022, at Golden Oaks Assisted Living in Marshall.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2022, at the First Christian Church in Marshall. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church. Cremation will follow and private family inurnment will be held at a later date in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to Crossroads Hospice in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born January 24, 1930, in Iola, KS, she was the daughter of the late Charles Ableson and Violet Stevenson Ableson. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from K-State in Manhattan, KS. On October 7, 1956, in Iola, KS, she married James A. Cox who preceded her in death on January 13, 1998. She was a member of the First Christian Church where she served as an elder, and was a member of the choir and bell choir. She was a member of  P.E.O. Sisterhood, loved to play bridge and travel, floated the Snake River at the age of 86, traveled to  Africa with Danny on a hunting trip, visited Rome, Alaska and Mexico with her friends and attended the Country Music Festival in Tennessee. She was very proud of being a K-State graduate, watched K-State football and kept up with K-State standings. She also loved the Chiefs and all sports.

Survivors include one son, Daniel J. Cox of Marshall; two grandchildren, Rebekah White of Independence, MO and Seth Lowe of Blue Springs, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Arlene Kong.
