
Preliminary reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) indicate 11 traffic fatalities in Missouri over the Memorial Day counting period from 6 p.m., Friday, May 27, through 11:59 p.m., Monday, May 30.
A reports from the MSHP says troops investigated 304 traffic crashes, 115 injuries, 79 drug arrests, and 121 persons driving while intoxicated. Troopers also investigated 19 boating crashes, 13 boating injuries, and one drowning.
Troopers investigated 258 traffic crashes and 84 injuries during the 2021 counting period.
The MSHP notes the statistics provided could change if late deaths occur, other departments report crashes or incidents, a fatality is determined to be a drowning, or if a fatality is determined to be caused by a medical condition after this news release was posted.
