
A Bunceton man is facing multiple felony charges after authorities were notified of a possible crime.
According to a release from Cooper County Sheriff Chris Class, deputies were dispatched to an address in the area of rural Bunceton for a call for service on June 7. While at the location, deputies were notified by a person of a possible crime occurring at a different location in the same area of the initial call reference to possible kidnapping and sex offenses.
As a result of the investigation into this information, a male subject identified as 73-year-old Theophilus E. Young, was taken into custody by deputies and transported to the Cooper County Detention Center.
Court documents say Young is charged with felonies for two counts of rape or attempted rape in the first degree, two counts of kidnapping, and two counts of incest. Young is being held without bond.
Young has a counsel status hearing scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 14 at Cooper County Circuit Court.
