A Marshall man facing multiple felony charges after he reportedly cut locks on storage units nearly two months ago changed his plea to some of the charges and has been sentenced to spend more than a handful of years in state prison.
A Marshall Police report says Christopher Peck cut locks and stole items from several units at Storage Banks in the 800 block of North Lexington Avenue (U.S. Highway 65) on May 19.
During his interview, authorities say Peck admitted he used bolt cutters to “pop locks” on storage units. He said he searched units, but only took items from one unit.
According to court documents, Peck was charged with seven counts of a felony for burglary in the second degree and misdemeanors for stealing and property damage.
On June 27 at Saline County Circuit Court, as part of a plea deal, Peck withdrew his not guilty plea and pleaded guilty to six of the felony counts for second-degree burglary, and the court dismissed the other charges.
The court sentenced Peck to six years in the Missouri Department of Corrections on each charge, with all of the sentences to run concurrently.
