The Higginsville Board of Aldermen considered approval of a resolution authorizing the filing of an application with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources during its meeting this week.

City Administrator Jeanette Dobson explains.

Aldermen approved the resolution.

In other news, Dobson said Republic Waste Services current contract runs out soon.

Dobson said the city will choose one of the bids perhaps by the end of this week. She said the new contract will begin on September 1.

Also, Ron Kumm was recognized for 30 years of service as a city employee.
