A Boonville man charged with attempted murder about a year and a half ago is scheduled to appear in court.
According to a Boonville Police report, on January 3, 2021, officers were dispatched to a residence to a report of shots fired. A woman told authorities Kalynn Dean Hendren pointed a rifle at her, and during wrestling over the rifle, Hendren fired one round. Officers found the spent shell casing, and the bullet fragment was located in the wall of the living room.
Court documents say Hendren is charged with felonies for attempted murder in the second degree, domestic assault in the first degree and armed criminal action. He continues to be held on $500,000 cash or surety bond.
Hendren entered a plea of not guilty on January 6, 2021, and was indicted by a Grand Jury on March 22.
Hendren’s jury trial that was scheduled to be held beginning July 7 was canceled. A disposition hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 11 at Cooper County Circuit Court.
