During the meeting of the Marshall-Saline Development Corporation, Executive Director Cydney Mayfield announced that Saline County was one of two recipients of the Center on Rural Innovation (CORI) Grant Rural Innovation Initiative Cohort Agreement.

Mayfield explains she submitted Marshall and Saline County’s information to CORI in September of 2021.

Mayfield announced that Saline County was one of six finalists for the grant a couple of months ago. Now she says Marshall and Saline County are one of two recipients nationwide.

Mayfield says the $750,000 from the CORI Grant and the $250,000 from the Economic Development Administration will help MSDC build a regional strategic plan to build and grow the digital economic ecosystem in the community.

The board voted to authorize Mayfield to sign and accept the agreement.
