The LaCoMo East Junior League all-star softball team won the state title this past weekend.

According to information provided by the coaches, LaCoMo East now will head to the Regional Tournament Thursday through Sunday, July 21-24, at Pendleton, Indiana.

LaCoMo East will compete against teams from several other states in the midwest. The winner of the Regional Tournament advances to the Junior League Softball World Series in Kirkland, Washington.

Players are: Johanna Breahears, Alivia Wahlbourn, Gentry Goodman, Lexi Hoffman, Taylor Fann, Katlyn Maggert, Angelina Johnson, McKenzie Mason, Aydin Wilcoxson, Peyton Marshall, Greenlee Gochenour and Ainsley McCracken; and coaches are Todd Marshall, Jeremy Gochenour and Jimmy Hoffman.

To help defray the cost of the trip to the regional tournament, the team is holding a fundraising barbecue on Tuesday, July 19.

A free-will donation is being asked for either a hamburger or hot dog, and chips, a bottle of water and a dessert.

The fundraiser is being held from 4 to 7 p.m. at S&P Quality Meats on East Eastwood Street in Marshall. All meat has been donated by S&P Quality Meats.
