Pettis County voters elected a new Presiding Commissioner during the 2022 August Primary Election on Tuesday, August 2. The polls were open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. in precincts throughout Pettis County.

According to unofficial election results, 27.2 percent of registered voters in Pettis County participated in the August Primary Election.

Numbers from the Pettis County Clerks office say Bill Taylor won the three-way race for Presiding Commissioner. Taylor received 3,370 votes, beating out incumbent David Dick, who had 1,386 votes, and Diedrick Kahrs, who had 1,046 votes.

Richard Purvis also defeated Dick in the Flat Creek Township Committeeman race. Purvis received 221 votes to Dick’s 154. Betty Jo Purvis won the Flat Creek Township Committeewoman race with 216 votes. She defeated Sherry Vinson, who had 151.
