MVC Athletic Director Mike Machholz has announced the promotion of Vladimir Simic, long-time men’s soccer coach, to Assistant Athletic Director according to a news release from the college.
Simic has been men’s soccer coach since 2002 and has developed one of the premiere programs in the NAIA. He has guided the team to one National Championship (2020), two National runner-up finishes (2017, 2018), four National Semifinals appearances, and has qualified for the National Tournament in 10 of the past 11 seasons. His teams have also won four regular season Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) championships and four Postseason Tournament titles in the HAAC.
Simic has earned a number of coaching awards during his tenure, including HAAC Coach of the Year Award three times, the NSCAA Regional Coach of the Year Award twice and his staff was named the United States Soccer Coaches’ NAIA Men’s Soccer Staff of the Year in 2020. Simic has an overall record of 240-112-33 at Missouri Valley.
