
Loretta Rogers, age 94, of Marshall, MO, died Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Golden Oaks Assisted Living in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 26, 2022, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Rev. Bobby Godwin officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family to help defray funeral expenses. Born May 16, 1928, in Taney County, MO, she was the daughter of the late William E. Persinger and Topsy Nora Blackwell Persinger. In earlier years she picked apples in the state of Washington and in the off season worked at Stampers in Marshall. She owned and operated The Blue Lantern in Waverly and worked at the Coop in Carrollton and Marshall Habilitation Center. She was a member of the Foster Grandparent Program and was a Baptist by faith. She loved gardening, doing word puzzles and collecting porcelain dolls.
Survivors include one son, Doug Rogers of Marshall; five grandchildren, Tracy Waterman of Marshall, Kenny Rogers (Melina), Dana Rogers, Shari Rogers and David Rogers (Kelly) all of Pleasant Hill; 10 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Mae Henley of Gladstone and Darlene Hoyes of Sweet Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by one son, Ervin “Butch” Rogers; two sisters, Lucille Clouse and Geneva Henley; three brothers, Harvey Lee Persinger, Don Persinger and Carl E. Persinger; and two brothers in infancy Calvin and Bobby Gene Persinger.
