Russell G. Goodheart, 88, of Marshall, MO, died Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Harry S Truman Memorial Veteran’s Hospital in Columbia.

Graveside services with military rites will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating.  Memorials are suggested to Harry S Truman Memorial Veteran’s Hospital in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.  An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born January 11, 1934, in Franklin Township, NJ, he was the son of the late William A. Goodheart Sr. and Alice Rose Goodheart.  Russ joined the United States Marine Corps on February 1, 1952, serving over a year in Korea, and was honorably discharged on February 1, 1955.  Following his discharge, he married Margaret Jean “Peggy” Huber on August 27, 1955 and she preceded him in death on November 30, 2020.  Russ retired from General Motors Delco Division after 30 years of service.  Russ and Peggy moved to Marshall in 2000 and following his retirement he enjoyed woodworking and television repair.

Survivors include one daughter, Tracy Goodheart of Marshall; one son, Russell Glenn Goodheart of Marshall; five grandchildren: Kera, Angie, Justin, Lori and Jake; seven great-grandchildren: Aidaen, Mackenzie, Adrianne, Zelda, Gideon, Finnegan and Amara; as well as nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Russ was preceded in death by one daughter, Penney Goodheart; two brothers, William and Bob Goodheart; and one sister, Elizabeth Geer.
