The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works considered bids for a truck scale at the recycling center.
Bids were opened on October 18. Five total bids were received. Electric Production Director Carl Crawford said the biggest difference in the bids was the cost of the foundation and installation of the scale.
Crawford recommended the board accept the bid from Accurate Superior Scale’s Option A for a Thurman Diamond Back Scale and equipment with software and haul off in the amount of $86,900.
The bid came in lower than the $92,000 budget. The board approved the bid.
In other news from the meeting, the board rejected a heater bid from H&S Heating & Cooling LLC. Bids were sent out to 33 vendors and only one bid was received. The bid came in at $49,850, which is $24,850 over budget.
