
Johnnie Mae Schilb, 95, of Sedalia, died Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born June 4, 1927 in Syracuse, MO, a daughter of the late John and Launa Frances (Cole) Brumble-Sprinkle. On June 12, 1946 in Otterville, MO, she was married to Jewell W. Schilb who preceded her in death on July 28, 2010.
Johnnie was raised and educated in Otterville and was a graduate of Otterville High School. She was always proud to be part of the girls’ basketball team that won the state championship her senior year. She was a member of First Baptist Church and spent more than 60 years attending to the needs of children in the church nursery each Sunday. She enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening, and canning. Johnnie was known for hosting Sunday family dinners and her fried chicken. She was animal lover and enjoyed her two dogs and cat.
Surviving are three sons, Robert Schilb of Knob Noster, Gary Schilb (Teri) and Danny Schilb all of Sedalia; a sister, Wanda Lewis of Otterville; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy and Donnie Sprinkle; and three sisters, Dorothy Romig, Betty Rehmer and Patsy Wittman.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2022 at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jeremiah Greever officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Forbes, Kenny Cooper, Terry Wittman, Randall Wittman, Cody Berg and Jeff Lewis. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral chapel.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church or the Sedalia Animal Shelter, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
