An arrest warrant was issued for a Brandon, Florida woman for multiple felonies in Cooper County on Monday, December 5, 2022.

According to a probable cause statement, Vanessa Lerma allegedly broke the front window of a vehicle and stole two purses on October 8, 2022.

Two victim’s credit cards were later used at Walmart in Boonville.

Surveillance footage from Walmart contained footage of a bi-racial female with long brown curly hair wearing a Kansas City Chiefs sweatshirt with grey pants and black tennis shoes, purchasing various merchandise between two credit cards belonging to the victims.

The female was identified as Lerma by the Missouri Information Analysis Center utilizing the surveillance footage of Lerma leaving Walmart through facial recognition technology.

The Boonville Police Department reviewed the criminal history of Lerma and discovered she had a prior conviction related to this incident.

According to court documents, Lerma is charged with two felonies for stealing, two counts of forgery and one count of fraudulent use of a credit/debit device. Lerma is also charged with two misdemeanors.

Bond has been set at $10,000 cash or surety.
