
Johnson County Clerk Diane Thompson will take filings for several offices that are to be elected at the April 4, 2023 General Municipal Election.
Thompson is taking filings for the following offices:
Western Missouri Medical Center
One Trustee – Five-year term
Johnson County Community Health
Two Trustees – Four-year term
One Trustee – Two-year unexpired term
Johnson County Ambulance District
Sub-District 3 Director – Three-year term
Sub-District 6 Director – Three-year term
Southeast Sewer District
One Supervisor – Five-year term
Blackwater Reorganized Common Sewer District
One Trustee – Five-year term
City of Chilhowee
Two Alderman At Large – Two-year term
City of Centerview
Two Alderman At Large – Two-year term
Centerview City Clerk will also take filings by appointment
All other entities with board members up for election will take their own filings, to include all other cities, school boards, fire districts and water districts.
Filing will continue during regular business hours with the last day of filing being 5 p.m. Tuesday, December 27.
The order in which candidates will appear on the April ballot will be determined by the order in which they file except on the first day of filing, the order will be determined by a random drawing. The names of candidates filing on the first day of filing for each office on each ballot shall be listed in ascending order of the numbers drawn, with the lowest number being first on the ballot. Candidate filings after the first day of filing will be taken on a first come first served basis. Proof of identity in the form of a Voter ID card, Missouri Driver’s License, birth certificate, or other form of certified or photo ID will be required for filing.
