Missouri State Senator Denny Hoskins introduced a number of legislative proposals for the 2023 legislative session.

Hoskins says he hope to advance Senate Bill 1, which is related to gaming and sports betting. This bill would authorize sports betting in Missouri and also create a network of video lottery terminals administered by the State Lottery Commission. Hoskins says the passage of this legislation would generate hundreds of millions of dollars in new revenue to fund Missouri schools and veterans programs.

Hoskins also aims to introduce legislation to limit participation in girls’ interscholastic and intramural sports to biological females and a measure that would prohibit the teaching of divisive concepts regarding race or sex in public schools. Hoskins is also sponsoring a variety of measures intended to expand economic opportunities in Missouri and help grow the state’s economy.
