The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for most of the KMMO listening area.

The advisory is in effect until 3 p.m. Monday, February 27, 2023.

According to the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office, gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down, and a few power outages may result.

Southwest winds are expected to be 20 to 30 miles per hour, with gusts up to 50 miles per hour, throughout the advisory period.

You are also urged to use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle.

The advisory is in effect for Saline, Carroll, Chariton, Howard, Pettis, and Cooper County.
