The Marshall City Council discussed an ordinance extending the contract for City Administrator J.D. Kehrman during its meeting on Monday, March 6, 2023.

Marshall City Clerk Julie Lewis read the ordinance to the council after which Councilman Drew Green made a motion to table the issue until July 2023. No other motion was made to table the proposed ordinance.

The council voted in favor of extending Kehrman’s contract beginning in October 2023 and running through September 2025 with council members Ashford, Guthrey, Brandt, Cook and Leon Thompson voting yes and council members Green and Craig Thompson voting no.

In other news from the meeting, the council unanimously approved closing the streets on the Marshall Square between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023 for the Missouri Department of Mental Health “Out of The Darkness Suicide Awareness Walk.”
