A Bates City man was killed after being struck in the roadway on Saturday, March 18, 2023.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, 27-year-old Justin Towne was struck and killed by a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Amber Willard, also of Bates City.

Towne was pronounced deceased at the scene by authorities.

The accident occurred at 2:43 a.m. on Mountain View Road, east of Route Z in Lafayette County.
