A Glasgow man has been charged with a drug related felony and forgery after authorities conducted a traffic stop on Tuesday, March 21.

According to the Fayette Police Department, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Trenton Strodtman. The officer noticed the year tab on the vehicle was altered. The plate came back with a 2021 expiration date.

Authorities discovered that the 2023 tab on the license plate was registered to another man who had no knowledge that Strodtman had stolen his tab.

Authorities conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered several containers with a white powder residue that tested positive for methamphetamine, as well as a needle. Strodtman claimed those contents did not belong to him.

Authorities from the Howard County Sheriff’s Department and the Glasgow Police Department assisted with the search and the arrest.

Court documents say Strodtman is charged with a felony for possession of a controlled substance and forgery. Strodtman has also been charged with a misdemeanor for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a vehicle on the highway without a valid license. Bond has been set at $20,000 cash only.

No court date has been set at this time.
