Jim Marshall was born to Al and Arlene (Evers) Marshall in South Saint Louis County. He grew up in the area of Jefferson Barracks when it was still woodsy and rural. He and his brother and cousins played in those woods before the suburbs grew up around them.

Jim attended Green Park Lutheran School not long after it had been started, then Mehlville High School. He worked in grocery and delivery businesses in the early years.  In 1982 Jim both met and married Judy Schreiman at Peace Lutheran Church, Lemay, where she was a Green Park teacher. They moved back to her family’s orchard where they raised peaches for the next 25 years. They lived in the old Hazel Hill area and were members of Immanuel Lutheran in Waverly where Jim was an elder.

Fourteen years ago, they retired in Concordia.

Besides his wife Judy, Jim is survived by brother. Steve and Denise of Branson; sister, Sharon Marshall of St Louis; niece, Jami Cushion and daughters, Emily & Claire, St. Louis; niece, Dawn and Dan Kaut and children, Tara, Taylor & Turner, St. Louis; mother-in-law, Helen Heidbrink,of Concordia; aunt, Shirley Evers of St. Louis; and many cousins.

Jim and Judy count friendships among staff and residents at Good Shepherd Care Community as family the last 7 months as well as church family at St Paul’s Lutheran Church.
