New Marshall School Board Amy Green was sworn in during the Marshall School Board meeting on Monday, April 17, 2023.

Green joined re-elected members Matt Smith and Jack Lenz in the swearing in.

The board also re-elected Bryon Jacques as board president, Matt Smith vice-president, Jack Lenz treasurer and Denise Reno as new secretary of the board. Erin Meyer was selected as Missouri School Board Association delegate and Harry Carrell as alternate.

The board certified the election results from the April 4, 2023 election and also certified the district levy increase. The levy, increasing assessment by $.99 in the district had been approved by voters with 1,943 yes votes and 722 no.

In other news from the meeting, the board approved declaring Southeast Elementary School a surplus, which allows the board to begin to pursue selling the property.
