
A Sedalia man has been charged with felonies for possession of a controlled substance.
According to a probable cause statement, authorities conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Jonathan Johnson on Monday, April 17, 2023. Johnson was allegedly breathing heavily and sweating. Johnson gave permission to search the vehicle where an alleged glass smoking device and remnants of alleged methamphetimane were found. The contents of the pipe field tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine.
During a probable cause search of the vehicle alleged psilocybin mushrooms were found in a baggy and seized. A digital scale was also found in the vehicle.
According to the report, Johnson currently has a previous drug trafficking charge pending in Pettis County. Johnson has been charged with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance in the incident.
Bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety.
Johnson was arraigned on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 and has a counsel status hearing scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May, 2, 2023 at Pettis County Circuit Court.
