A Sedalia man has been charged with enticement of a child in Pettis County.

According to a probable cause statement, Sedalia Police were informed by the mother of a 13-year-old juvenile female that alleged inappropriate pictures and messages were sent to the juvenile from Juan Cuevas Jr. The juvenile reported to authorities that inappropriate messages had allegedly in fact been sent by Cuevas.

During an interview, Cuevas allegedly confirmed that he had sent messages of an inappropriate manner to the juvenile and is aware the juvenile is 13-year-old.

Cuevas has been charged with a felony for enticement or attempted enticement of a child under 15 years of age.

Bond has been set at $250,000 cash or surety.

Cuevas was arraigned on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 and has a counsel status hearing scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday May, 9, 2023 at Pettis County Circuit Court.
