
Dora Jane Warden, 82, of Marshall, MO, died Saturday, June 10, 2023, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church in Marshall with Pastor Rodney Haggett officiating. Burial will follow at the Missouri State Veteran’s Cemetery in Higginsville. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the church. Born July 10, 1940, in Moulton, IA, she was the daughter of the late Cletus Black Sr. and Dorothy Dean Black. On May 25, 1973, she married Wesley Dale Warden who preceded her in death on July 31, 2010. Dora had lived in Marshall since 1973 where she worked at Olivet Free Will Baptist Kiddie Kare, Banquet Foods, cleaning homes and then retiring from the dietary department at Marshall Habilitation Center.
Survivors include five children: Jonathan Warden of Marshall, Christina Anderson of Geneseo, IL, Terry McLean of Greenwood, IN, Tammy Bishop of Kentucky and Lila Whittom of Marshall; 15 grandchildren; over 30 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Charlotte Burnell of Grinnell, IA and Erma Sorenson of Harvey, IA; two brothers, Henry Black of Pella, IA and J.P. Black of Renick, WV; as well as nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents and husband; one son, Terry Whittom; one daughter, Janet Shook; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Cletus Jr. and James Black; and two sisters, Roberta Glaspie and Susan West.
