Marshall Public Schools Superintendent Caleb Petet gave an update on the upcoming 2024 fiscal year budget during the Marshall Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, June 13.

Petet stated the district would be deficit spending by over $1.1 million due to COVID funding coming to an end.

Petet stated he anticipates continued deficit spending for 2025. The board approved the budget at the meeting.

In other news from the meeting, Petet stated summer school attendance is 866 students from grades kindergarten through 12.
