A two-vehicle accident on I-70 in Saline County caused serious injury to a Mississippi woman on Thursday, June 29.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred when Vickie Lee slowed to turn left into the median crossover causing traffic to back up. A vehicle driven by Timothy Wills of Tennessee swerved to avoid the back up and struck the driver side of Lee’s vehicle.

Lee was transported by Saline County EMS to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.

The accident occurred at 3:50 p.m. on eastbound I-70 at mile marker 81.2 in Saline County.
