An area health center is providing wellness screenings and laboratory blood work in August.

The Pettis County Health Center will be at Houstonia City Hall from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. August 2; and at the Sedalia Senior Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. August 4.

The services offered include height/weight/BMI measurements, blood pressure, CBC, Hgb A1C, CMP, and Lipids. The first 40 adults to attend will receive these services free of charge, while any adults after the first 40 will pay at a reduced rate.

Also, the Pettis County Health Center will be closed on Thursday, July 13 to allow employees to participate in a community-wide exercise.
