
The Sedalia Police Department recently rescued a woman kidnapped from Louisiana.
According to a press release, Livingston Parish, Louisiana Police contacted the department in reference to a kidnapping in their are on July 5. The Livingston Parish Police had pinged a cell phone in the area of Second Street and Winchester Drive.
Sedalia Police Department Officers responded to the area and located a truck parked at Motel 6 with Louisiana license plates. The truck was registered to the female who had been kidnapped. Officers made contact with a male and female in a rented room inside the motel. The male was identified as William H. Howe and the female was identified as the kidnap victim.
The female stated to authorities that Howe had entered her home and taken her from her bed and she felt unable to escape.
Howe was arrested and placed on 24 hour hold for kidnapping. Howe was given a $10,000 cash or surety bond which he posted on July 7.
On July 10, Howe entered the police station to retrieve property. A subsequent no bond extradition warrant had been issued from Louisiana for kidnapping. While attempting to execute the arrest warrant, Howe fled on foot but was captured near Fourth and Moniteau. He was placed on a 24 hour hold for fugitive from justice and resisting arrest. He will be extradited to Louisiana.
