The Lexington City Council approved a proposal from Advanced Manufacturing Control Systems Limited (AMCS) for utility billing during its meeting on Tuesday, July 11.

UtiliBill Software, which handles billing in Lexington sold out to AMCS. The proposal was for setup, configuration, data mitigation, training and implementation at a cost of $800. Residential billing for up to 2,500 dwellings subscription fee and web portal will be $4,144. The existing software will be in use until August 1.

In other news, the council approved a request from the Lexington Community Betterment Association to commission an artist to create public artwork to be displayed in front of the city hall to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the city.
