Virginia Lee Gilmore, 92, of Marshall, MO, died Monday, March 13, 2023, at her home.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church in Marshall with Pastor Rodney Haggett officiating.  Memorials are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born September 12, 1930, in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Boone Jacobs and Dora Ethel Whitney Jacobs.  She lived in Marshall most of her life, was a graduate of Marshall High School and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.  Virginia loved people, and helping people, which led her to a career in health care. She worked for the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics until she retired and then at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall as a unit clerk until retiring again.  Virginia had a zest for life and in addition to her love of people, she enjoyed traveling, bowling, and camping.

Survivors include three sons: Rick Morris (Judy) of Marshall, Billy Jo “BJ” Morris (Dora) of Oak Grove and Danny Irvin of Panama City, FL; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evalene Poppinga of rural Marshall and Linda Black of Marshall; two brothers, Sammie Jacobs and Jerry Jacobs, both of Marshall; as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by three brothers: J.B, Bill and Louis Jacobs; and one sister, Betty Miller.
