
A Prairie Home man has been charged with assualt with a weapon after an incident on Thursday, July 13.
According to a probable cause statement, Cooper County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to a residence in regard to an assault. The deputies had been informed of a victim allegedly being struck in the head with a pry bar suffering lacerations to the head and scalp. The suspect identified as George Horridge had left the scene.
A witness stated to the deputy that he did not witness the incident however heard yelling from another room. The witness noted bleeding on the victim and observed Horridge running out the door. Horridge allegedly returned to the residence and blocked the doorway and struck the victim over the head.
Horridge was located at a local convenience store in Windsor Place and taken into custody.
According to court documents, Horridge has been charged with felonies for second degree assault and armed criminal action.
Bond has been set at $25,000 cash or surety.
No court date has been set.
