
The Marshall City Council approved an ordinance for an aviation project consultant agreement with HDR Engineering Services, Inc. during its meeting on Tuesday, July 18.
The firm had made a presentation to the council previously discussing a parallel taxiway, additional parking for planes and a proposed agriculture apron. The agreement is for engineering, consulting and other services related to upgrading the airport. The approved ordinance includes a budget not to exceed $379,000.
The council also approved the sale of property at 262 West Arrow Street to the Powerhouse Community Development Corporation for $20,000.
In other news, the council tabled an ordinance to establish rules and regulations permitting the use of low speed and utility vehicles in the city due to questions in the wording of the ordinance. The council will discuss the ordinance after revision have been made.
