Crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation will begin work on the shoulder of the road on Route D and Route 23 beginning at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, August 1.

The work on Route 23 will take place at the main Spirit Gate of Whiteman Air Force Base. This work will not require a complete closure but motorists may experience delays in the area.

This work is part of a larger project to add lighting and signing at Route D and construct a northbound right turn lane at Spirit Boulevard at Whiteman Airforce Base. The project will be completed by approximately the end of August 2023.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones.
