The Carrollton Town Council approved an ordinance establishing a procedure to disclose potential conflicts of interest and substantial interest for certain officials during its meeting on Monday, August 21.

According to state statute, municipalities must renew the ordinance every two years. The council voted unanimously for approval.

The council also approved the use of the downtown square for the “Junk in the Trunk” event scheduled for Saturday, September 30.

In other news, the council discussed bids for demolition of two city owned properties. No action was taken at the meeting on the bids and the council will discuss at the next meeting.
