The Odessa Board of Aldermen set the tax levy for 2023 during its meeting on Monday, August 28.

A public hearing was held before the meeting to discuss the rates for the General and Park fund. City Administrator Shawna Davis listed the proposed rates.

Each tax rate is determined by dividing the amount of revenue needed by the current assessed valuation. The board approved the rates.

In other news, the board approved two special event permits for Homecoming activities. One was for the Homecoming Community Pep Rally on Wednesday, September 20; and the other is for the Homecoming Parade on Friday, September 22.
