
Mary Klinge Lenz, 73, of Marshall, MO, died Sunday, September 3, 2023, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Mary donated her body to the anatomical department of the University of Missouri in Columbia and requested that no service be held. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to Marshall Senior Center or Marshall Public Library in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Born November 6, 1949, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Frederick R. Klinge Jr. and June Kennedy Klinge. Mary lived in Saline County most of her life and was a 1967 graduate of Marshall High School. Following high school she attended University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Missouri Valley College in Marshall and then spent her life as a farmer on the family farm near Malta Bend. She was an avid bridge player and was a member of the Tuesday Bridge Club in Malta Bend. Anyone who knew Mary knew that she was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, and that you didn’t call her during a game, as well as being a Jeopardy fan.
She is survived by three children: Carrie L. Bye and husband, Kevin, of Knoxville, TN, M. (Mary) Corinne Lenz and fiancé, Steven Witte, of Manhattan, KS and Heinrich Lenz of Boonville; the youngest child, Duncan the cat; three grandchildren: Dillon Sloop, Lane C. Bye and Luke C. Bye; a brother, Heinrich Klinge and partner, Don Sargent, of Annapolis, MD; sister-in-law, Robin Klinge of Marshall; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Fred R. Klinge III; and one sister, Jeanette Klinge.
