
The Slater City Council swore in a new Ward Four councilperson during its meeting on Tuesday, September 19.
The council nominated and swore in Hunter Brown to the vacant seat on the council. The position was available after Terry Jordan was promoted to the position of Mayor. Brown will serve on the council until the next election.
Also, the council approved several bills regarding items on the 2024 April ballot. The council voted to put a question regarding a three percent sales tax on the sale of marijuana in city limits on the ballot.
The council approved bills to put sales tax renewal questions on the ballot. One is the capital improvement sales tax, and the other is the transportation sales tax.
