Jordan Lyles picked up the win despite giving up five runs over six innings.
Bobby Witt Jr. hit his 30th homer of the season and Salvador Perez had a three-hit day to lead the Kansas City offense. Edward Olivares also went deep.
The Royals had 15 hits in the game.
