A Franklin woman has been arrested and charged after an incident on Wednesday, October 11.
According to the Howard County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy observed a vehicle driven with plates that traced back to a known drug house from prior law enforcement incidents. The vehicle was driven by Tracey Hunt.
The deputy conducted a traffic stop on Hunt’s vehicle and requested permission to search the vehicle and Hunt’s person. Hunt initially gave the deputy permission to search the vehicle, but denied permission to search her purse. The deputy called in a K9 unit, which alerted to the presence of drugs.
Deputies found a glass smoking device and two small baggies with methamphetamine.
Hunt has been charged with a felony for possession of a controlled substance. Bond has been set at $20,000 cash only.
Hunt has multiple past narcotics related convictions.
