Two area residents were killed in a motorcycle accident on Highway 65 in Saline County on Tuesday, October 17.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when a motorcycle driven by 29-year-old Dylan Giffen attempted to pass a tractor attempting to make a left turn onto another road. Giffen’s motorcycle struck the towed unit of the tractor, crossed into the Northbound lane, into the path of another car, striking it head-on.

Both occupants of the motorcycle were killed in the crash. Giffen and 41-year-old Jaime Kelly were pronounced deceased at the scene by Waverly paramedics. No other injuries were reported.

The accident occurred at 4:35 p.m. on Highway 65 near Arbor Road in Saline County.
