Born November 3, 1953, in Boonville, he was the son of the late James Raymond Berry and Elvadine Schnack Berry. Jan was raised in Boonville where he graduated from Boonville High School in 1971. On June 18, 1977, he married Karen Ann Adair who survives of the home. Jan had a career with Toastmaster that lasted for over 30 years working as the Quality Control Engineer. While he dedicated much time to his occupation, he never forgot how to enjoy life and every day it afforded. In January of 1981, he and Karen moved to the Village of Arrow Rock where they have been active citizens of that area. They were motorcycle enthusiasts who traveled extensively and enjoyed making memories with each other, as well as their son, James, and his family. Jan was a true Anglophile in the fact that he loved everything English. History, trivia, literature, motorcycles and classic cars, were just a few of the things that he appreciated putting an English spin on. He was also a lover of antiques. Going to antique sales and shops, as well as refinishing antique furniture, was another way that he and Karen were able to appreciate their time together. He loved his family very much and will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife of 46 years, Karen; he is survived by their son, James Berry (Megan) of Kansas City; their granddaughter, Amelia Berry; as well as other extended family members and a host of friends.
Jan was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Elvadine Berry; and his sister, Sandra Melkersman.
