The Saline County Inter-Agency Council begun its initiative nearly 50 years ago to provide holiday help for children and families in Saline County. It was named the Holiday Project, and has continued to be a valuable resource for local families and individuals to receive food and gifts at Christmas time.

The project just finished up their online baking auction this year. Project Director Lindsey Parton talks about the next very whimsical “Well Poo” Fundraiser kicking off next.

Local churches, nonprofit organizations; and countless community individuals work together to donate, volunteer, and organize these efforts. The council wants individuals who are interested in receiving assistance to complete their application by November 22. The gifts and food will be distributed on December 14th, 2023 at the Martin Community Center. Applications will receive information about their specific pick-up times after they apply. will be held on December 14th, 2023 at the Martin Community Center. Parton also visits about volunteers taking donations at two different crosswalks on December 1st.

Their goal is to provide at least two gifts valued at $20 or more for every child and a food box with about one weeks worth of food for every family.
