The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Driver and Vehicle Safety Division conducted their annual Bus inspections for area district owned buses on Tuesday, February 20.
District Buses that were inspected included buses from Miami, Slater, Orearville, Hardeman, and Marshall. 31 of the Marshall School District’s buses were presented for a very intense safety inspection. Buses were checked from top to bottom as MSHP checked lights, tires, brake linings and Hoses, Exhaust, and shocks.
District Mechanics along with Transportation staff passed this inspection this year with 100 percent, with no defects being recorded.
Transportation Director Craig Thompson said he was proud of the mechanics and Marshall staff for helping make the achievement possible. He also expressed gratitude to everyone who has supported the transportation staff’s efforts.
The staff will be receiving two awards from DESE along with MSHP at the Missouri Association for Pupil Transportation Conference in Columbia.
