The Saline County Commission convened in session on March 27, during which Commissioner Stephanie Gooden provided an update regarding the Lemon Trail Bridge situated east of the Marshall Junction.
Gooden noted that the bridge has been closed for several months and will now be a part of the I-70 Improvements Project.
This $405 million initiative marks the first of several projects aimed at widening and enhancing the I-70 corridor.
It is part of the $2.8 billion allocation approved by lawmakers to construct a third lane of I-70 across the state, spanning nearly 200 miles from Blue Springs to Wentzville.
Anticipated construction for the reconstruction of the Lemon Trail Bridge is scheduled for next year.
